The ELCA Global Mission posted a situation summary regarding the Pakistan Humanitarian Crisis plus links to reports from ACT International, Church World Service, and Oxfam. This is a huge humanitarian crisis which has been the consequence of the latest escalation of military and insurgent action, primarily in the Swot Valley and Frontier Provinces. ELCA has direct access to on the ground responders with a high degree of experience and confidence. We would love for Lutherans and others to consider the ELCA as their organization of choice in responding to this crisis. As always, all funds received for this specific situation will be directed to this response as the communication and mission administration costs are already covered from other sources of funding.
